Villa Mandi
Located a breezy 15 to 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport, Villa Mandi is the kind of hotel that quietly whispers “You want family fun without losing your mind, right?” And it delivers. Mostly.
The Vibe
This place is small but mighty. Think boutique-style resort with big heart energy. It’s perfect for families who want a chilled, clean, and friendly base with just enough entertainment to keep the kids happy and enough sunbeds to keep the dads napping like they’ve been tranquilised.
And speaking of dads
The hotel backs onto a lush golf course, perfect for sneaking away and pretending to “check the weather” while you’re really teeing off and buying overpriced balls from the pro shop.
The Rooms
Spacious, clean, and well-equipped, the rooms come with everything you need to survive a week of family togetherness including kitchen bits, comfy beds, and if you play your cards right on check-in, a rooftop jacuzzi with panoramic views of the golf course.
Top tip: Be charming at reception and try your luck with a cheeky upgrade. Worked for us.
The Staff & Entertainment
The staff are lovely, the entertainment team is enthusiastic without being too Butlins, and the vibe is very much “your kid can run around and make friends while you drink a quiet beer in peace.”
Ten out of ten for family friendliness, zero out of ten for nightclub energy, but that’s not what this hotel is going for.
The Buffet (Brace Yourself)
Let’s talk food. Or more specifically: breakfast, amazing. The rest... questionable.
I mean, you know how I like my breakfast. Full and English baby. Eggs, sausages, beans, the whole greasy symphony.
But after that, it was Groundhog Day with rice and mystery meat. You start to wonder if the chef has a grudge against variety.
And here's the real kicker. All inclusive doesn’t include ice creams for the kids?
I’m sorry, but if I have to explain to my child why their holiday doesn’t include frozen treats, I expect a discount and a formal apology from Mr Whippy himself.
Location
Tranquil, yes. Central, not so much.
If you want to party, be prepared to hoof it 20 minutes down the road to get to the beachfront bars and nightlife of Playa de las Américas.
It’s not far, but if you’re carrying an inflatable flamingo and a tipsy partner in wedges, it’ll feel like a pilgrimage.
The Siam Park Bonus
Now, here’s a gem. Free entry to Siam Park, one of the best waterparks in Europe. Massive win for families, thrill-seekers, and anyone who’s ever wanted to scream down a slide and call it exercise.
Worth the stay just for this perk alone.
Final Thoughts
Villa Mandi is a hidden gem for families, offering calm, comfort, and that all-important golf break clause in your parenting contract.
Yes, the buffet needs a shake-up, and the "all inclusive" label needs a little fine print clarification (ice cream, guys) but overall, it’s a solid spot.
Rating: Four breakfasts and a rooftop jacuzzi out of five. Would return with a pocketful of Magnums for the kids.
